Oliver Design to Transform Turkish Ferry into Luxury Cruise Experience

Nov 03, 2018 07:35

Renowned Spanish naval design firm, Oliver Design, has embarked on an exciting project to overhaul a Turkish passenger ferry, turning it into a luxurious cruise ship for the UK-based Magna Carta Steamship Company. Once known as Necdet Ali Yildirim, the vessel, previously serving routes between the Turkish port of Çeşme and the Greek island of Chios, is set for a significant upgrade. The 398 gross tonnage ferry, measuring 42 meters in width and featuring two decks, will evolve into a sophisticated four-deck cruise ship designed to accommodate 50 guests alongside a dedicated crew of 17. This ambitious transformation will take place at the Armada shipyards located in Vigo, Spain, marking a new chapter for the vessel as it transitions from a regional ferry to a premium cruising experience.
