Lawyers acting on behalf of the vessel 'Madeira' have filed a claim seeking damages exceeding one million dollars following a maritime incident involving the 'U Glory'. The legal representatives allege that shortly after colliding with the 'Madeira', the 'U Glory' abruptly changed course, collided with two barges, and fled the scene without heeding the pleas from the 'Madeira's' captain. The 'Madeira', having maneuvered to the starboard side, continued its journey towards the pilot station. As of May 12, the ship was en route to the Suez Canal, with an estimated arrival date of May 17.
Bulk Carrier 'U Glory' Involved in Allision at Kandla Anchorage
On April 28, 2021, the bulk carrier 'U Glory', registered under IMO number 9144029, was involved in a maritime incident at Kandla anchorage in Gujarat. The vessel, which had departed from Kandla port at 11:20 a.m. heading towards Karachi, lost control and allided with the moored ship 'Madeira' at coordinates 22° 45.20' N 069° 56.18' E. The collision impacted the port side of the 'U Glory', resulting in some damage, although the 'Madeira' sustained no significant harm. Following the allision, the 'U Glory' anchored at a new position of 22° 46.21' N 069° 58.74' E. As of May 7, both vessels remained secured at their respective positions without further incident.
