Successful Passage for Maersk Vessels Through the Strait of Hormuz
On June 24 and 25, 2026, the Maersk Baltimore, alongside a time-chartered vessel, successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, exiting the Gulf in a well-coordinated effort with security partners. These transits followed comprehensive security evaluations to ensure safe passage. Out of the three vessels that remain within the Gulf, Maersk has announced plans for an additional transit through Hormuz at a future date, while the remaining two vessels will be utilized for intra-Gulf services. Initially, Maersk had dispatched 47,000 containers destined for the Gulf region at the start of the conflict, and of those, 44,000 have been successfully delivered, leaving 3,000 containers awaiting final delivery.
