Maersk Unifies Intra-Regional Carriers Under Sealand Brand

Sep 24, 2018 10:17

In a strategic move to enhance customer experience and streamline marketing efforts, A.P. Moller-Maersk has announced that its intra-regional brands will rebrand under the singular identity of Sealand – A Maersk Company. Effective October 1st, customers will notice the transformation as Seago Line, MCC, and Sealand consolidate under this unified branding. The existing structure with three dedicated teams across different locations will remain intact, each reporting to their respective regional CEOs. This strategic alignment reflects Maersk's commitment to enhancing service delivery while retaining the unique strengths of its regional carriers.

Seago Antwerp Debuts New Bulbous Bow for Enhanced Fuel Efficiency

Feb 04, 2013 09:10

In a fascinating maritime makeover, the Seago Antwerp, previously known as the Maersk Baltimore, has undergone significant renovations with the installation of a new bulbous bow. This transformation isn't merely cosmetic; it has the potential to reduce fuel consumption by as much as 5%. The operation, often likened to a ship's plastic surgery, is part of Maersk's initiative to retrofit two of its vessel classes, totaling ten ships, to boost their fuel efficiency. The first vessels to receive this upgrade, the Maersk Buffalo and Maersk Baltimore, were successfully reconfigured at Qingdao Shipyard in China last November. After their rejuvenation, the ships have resumed operations under their new names: Seago Bremerhaven and Seago Antwerp. This innovative approach not only aims to enhance environmental sustainability but also reflects the shipping industry’s commitment to optimizing performance and reducing operating costs.
