Historic Arrival of MAERSK CAP JERVIS at Port of Napier
In a momentous occasion for the Port of Napier, the MAERSK CAP JERVIS, a colossal container ship weighing 59,300 tonnes, made its landmark docking on Friday night. Although the Hamburg Sud vessel was originally slated to arrive just after dawn, it had to anchor in the stream until evening due to its impressive size coupled with challenging tides and weather conditions. Once safely docked, the massive ship navigated port operations seamlessly and was able to depart without any issues by around 6 PM on Saturday.
