This strategic move allows Diana Containerships to allocate the proceeds from the sale towards reducing its existing debt obligations. Following this transaction, alongside the earlier announced sale of the Post-Panamax container ship 'Hamburg', Diana Containerships will streamline its fleet to four container vessels, which includes two Post-Panamax and two Panamax ships. The company primarily utilizes its vessels under time charter contracts with major liner operators, facilitating the transport of containerized cargo across global trade routes.
