On January 16, 2025, the cargo vessel Manassa Moon M' faced detention in Kocaeli due to a staggering 29 deficiencies. Prior to this latest incident, the Manassa Moon M' also faced detentions on December 16, 2023, in Alexandria, where it was held for ten days with 21 noted deficiencies, and on September 23, 2023, in Piraeus, where it was held for five days with 15 deficiencies. On August 14, 2022, the cargo vessel 'Manassa Moon M' encountered a significant engine failure while navigating near Akbaş in the Dardanelles Strait, during its journey from Bar to Tripoli. In response to the emergency, the Turkish Coastguard's Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center coordinated a swift operation involving tugboats 'Kurtarma 13' and 'Kurtarma 15', along with the lifeboat 'KEGM 9', to secure the vessel. Following their efforts, the ship was anchored safely at Karanlık Liman. As of August 15, the 'Manassa Moon M' had not moved from its position, which was recorded at 40° 02.43'N 026° 18.73' E.
