On November 17, 2019, significant repairs on the former 'Riza Sonay' were successfully completed, following extensive sea trials and performance evaluations. The ship now boasts a new set of trading certificates issued by the relevant classification society and flag state authority. After securing departure permission from the Harbour Master on the same day, the vessel, now officially renamed 'Marian M' and registered under the flag of Togo, set sail from Altinova at 4:30 p.m. Five days later, on November 23 at 10 p.m., the Marian M anchored at Marmara Saraylar, positioning itself at coordinates 40° 40.04' N 027° 39.76' E.

On May 27, 2019, the cargo ship 'Riza Sonay', which was making its way from Sousse to Nikolayev, encountered a significant engine failure while situated west of Malta at coordinates 35° 50' 30” N and 13° 03' 12” E. The crew was unable to perform the necessary repairs on board, prompting the mobilization of the Italian tug 'Paraggi' (IMO: 9802968) from Augusta on May 28. Towage operations commenced on May 29, ensuring the safe transport of the 'Riza Sonay' to the Tuzla shipyard area. The journey concluded at Tuzla anchorage on the morning of June 4. Following the completion of all required formalities, the vessel was successfully berthed at the shipyard pier later that same day. A comprehensive damage assessment was executed by a class surveyor along with a representative of the vessel's owner. Subsequently, permanent repair works were initiated based on the class surveyor's detailed recommendations.
