NS United has announced a new time charter agreement following the successful delivery of a vessel from Zhangijang on August 7. The vessel is set to operate within the Singapore-Japan range, promising a competitive daily rate of $16,750. This strategic move is expected to enhance NS United's operational capabilities in the region.

On September 26, 2016, at 6:53 PM, the NSRI Port Elizabeth responded promptly to a medical emergency involving the bulk carrier 'Anangel Seafarer', which was en route from Singapore to Brazil. A request had been made by a ship's agent to facilitate the medevac of a 36-year-old Greek sailor who suffered a serious injury to his left hand. The NSRI team reached out to the Transnet National Ports Authority pilot boat for assistance. Equipped with extraction tools, an NSRI Port Elizabeth rescue team, along with an EC Government Health EMS paramedic, made their way to the vessel located two nautical miles offshore from Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival, they assessed the patient, confirming he was in stable condition despite sustaining a fractured middle finger and lacerations, which had been treated by the crew's medical personnel. The sailor was safely transferred to the pilot boat for transport back to shore, where the ship's agent arranged for him to receive further medical treatment at a local hospital.
