A vessel has recently been purchased by Canadian company Canfornav for an undisclosed amount. This transaction marks another significant development in Canfornav's growing fleet and underscores the company’s strategic expansion within the maritime industry.

The bulker 'Gadwall' made its way to Gent on January 27 for the unloading of its cargo after being towed across the Atlantic. Following this, on January 31, the vessel docked at the Damen Shiprepair Yard in Flushing at approximately 5:40 PM. The ship experienced a significant incident on October 29, 2016, when it lost its rudder while navigating the North Atlantic, specifically south of Santa Maria Island, during a voyage from Quebec to Gent. Tugboats 'Smit Nicobar' (IMO: 9322592) and 'Centaurus' (IMO: 9433755) were deployed to assist in bringing the stricken vessel safely to port, ensuring its passage through the Gulf of St. Lawrence and ultimately to Belgium. On October 29, 2016, the bulk carrier 'Gadwall' faced a critical situation in the Gulf of St. Lawrence following the loss of its rudder while traveling from Quebec to Gent. After being rendered disabled, the vessel was assisted by the tug 'Ocean Artique' (IMO: 9261607), which began towing the disabled ship on November 1 toward Sept Iles. The escorting tug successfully reached its destination around noon on November 2, where the tug 'Ocean Yvan Desgagnes' (IMO: 9542207) took over the tow to ensure safe arrival.
