The order from the US Coast Guard's Captain of the Port of Los Angeles - Long Beach was put in place due to these safety concerns. On the morning of October 31, 2013, the vessel 'Transatlantic' made an unexpected diversion to Bermuda to assist a crew member who was suffering from shingles. The ship received support from the pilot boat St. David, which arrived at the Sea Buoy off St David’s at approximately 8:00 a.m. to facilitate the disembarkation. The afflicted crew member was safely transferred to the pilot boat, with a doctor accompanying him to ensure prompt medical attention. Fortunately, an ambulance was not deemed necessary for the transfer to the hospital, highlighting the efficiency of the operation. Communications between Bermuda Radio, the vessel, and its local agent had been ongoing for several days leading up to this critical event.

On December 17, 2011, the vessel 'Transatlantic' was relocated from its docking position at the East Shore Port in Kiel to the Ostsee Quay. The ship is currently undergoing repairs on its Wärtsilä diesel engine, a process that remains incomplete and is projected to extend until February 2012. This situation is further complicated by the expiration of Hapag Lloyd's charter. Recently, during testing procedures, an oil leak was detected, prompting immediate action from the authorities. To mitigate potential environmental hazards, the Technical Support Work (THW) team alongside fire rescue services cordoned off the area with an oil boom. The source of the leak was traced back to the shaft seal, and the THW successfully absorbed the oil leakage, ensuring the containment of the spill.
