In a dramatic turn of events on January 23, 2026, emergency services executed a medical evacuation of a Ukrainian crew member aboard the 'Marianne'. The vessel, which was drifting due to inclement weather conditions, was making its way from Sines to Guadiana and was located approximately 11 nautical miles south of Huelva. The evacuation was initiated at the request of the Belgian radio medical center, prompting the Huelva Civil Protection Coordination Center (CCS Huelva) to spring into action.
