On March 3, 2022, the bulk carrier 'Marvel I' experienced a mechanical failure shortly after it passed under the iconic Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver's English Bay. The ship, which had departed from Vancouver carrying a load of grain, was headed for Longkou when it encountered difficulties. At approximately 11:50 a.m., the Coast Guard received an emergency call from the vessel reporting its issues as it cleared the bridge. The 'Marvel I' promptly dropped anchor, resting near Siwash Rock and was slightly grounded on a sandy bottom in a north-south orientation. Within two hours, a coordinated effort from four tugboats successfully maneuvered the carrier away from its position close to Stanley Park. Following the rescue, the ship was escorted to English Bay where it anchored for a thorough inspection. As of March 4, the 'Marvel I' was stationary at position 49° 17.70' N 123° 15.22' W, awaiting further evaluation.

On April 15, 2019, the vessel 'Sher-E-Punjab' was navigating towards the bustling port of Mumbai when crew members discovered that one liferaft and two lifebuoys were unaccounted for. The ship's logs indicated that these safety items were last verified in their designated storage on April 13. It is believed that the essential lifesaving equipment was lost overboard during transit between the coordinates 09° 02' 24" N, 76° 01' 12" E and 17° 16' 48" N, 72° 25' 12" E. Following this incident, the 'Sher-E-Punjab' successfully moored at the sea anchorage off Mumbai on April 18, 2019, at the position 18° 55.58' N, 72° 41.33' E, ensuring the vessel's continued operations.
