On May 24 at 3:39 p.m., the captain of the vessel alerted the Coast Guard's 17th District command center regarding a crew member suffering from stroke-like symptoms. In response, an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Air Station Kodiak was dispatched, and at 7:35 a.m. the following day, the aircrew performed a hoist operation to lift the 27-year-old man. He was then safely transferred to a commercial medevac service waiting in Dutch Harbor, ensuring he received the necessary medical attention promptly.

In a significant move to enhance its operations, Matson has successfully secured a new charter agreement for a duration of 42 to 44 months, focusing on trading routes between Asia and the US West Coast. This strategic partnership will see Matson operating at a competitive rate of $56,500 per day, reinforcing their commitment to improving service efficiency and reliability in this vital shipping corridor.
