On January 4, 2023, at 2:00 PM, the freighter 'Med Samsun' dropped anchor at the Güllük anchorage, seeking refuge due to technical issues. A specialized shore-based technical team, alongside a class surveyor, promptly boarded the vessel, with oversight from the owner's superintendent. Following the class surveyor's recommendations, repair work commenced immediately. By January 5, the 'Med Samsun' remained stationary at coordinates 37° 15.17' N 027° 34.64' E as repairs were finalized. Once the necessary repairs were completed, the freighter was granted permission to depart. The vessel set sail from Güllük on January 7, 2023, and successfully reached Tekirdag on January 9 at 8:50 AM.

On December 30, 2019, the Naxos Port Authority received a report regarding the mechanical failure of the freighter 'Med Samsun.' At that time, the vessel was securely anchored northeast of Naxos, carrying a crew of 19. The ship had to dock due to unfavorable weather conditions. Following the incident, the Naxos Port Authority prohibited the vessel from departing until a class maintenance certificate was provided by the ship's registrar. By January 1, the Greek tug 'Alexander 5' (IMO: 9020405) was engaged to tow the 'Med Samsun.' The following day, both the tug and the freighter were anchored near Ikaria at coordinates 37° 32.34' N 026° 11.74' E. After resolving the necessary issues, the tow convoy resumed its journey on January 3.
