Ingvild Grounded Near Stabben: Incident Overview
On June 27, 2017, at 12:30 a.m., the cargo vessel "Ingvild" experienced a grounding incident while navigating from Mongstad. The ship ran aground at Grasskjeret, located west of Stabben lighthouse near Florø. At the time of the accident, the ship was travelling at a speed of 11.2 knots and became stuck on the seabed for approximately six meters. The vessel had a crew of 15 members aboard, but fortunately, no injuries or pollution resulted from the incident. In response to the grounding, a tugboat was summoned, and the lifeboat "Halvdan Grieg" was dispatched from Florø as a safety precaution. By 2:35 p.m. the same day, the "Ingvild" successfully refloated using its own power and proceeded to berth at the cargo terminal in Florø. The ship resumed its journey on June 29 at 9:15 a.m., setting course for Follafoss, with an estimated arrival date of July 1. Subsequently, on July 5, the "Ingvild" docked at Westcon Yards AS in Ølensvåg for necessary repairs. Norwegian Coastguard Detains Vessel 'Ingvild' Over Unpaid Pilotage Fees
In a recent development off the coast of Norway, the Norwegian Coastguard has apprehended the vessel 'Ingvild' following a request from the District Court to secure outstanding pilotage fees and related charges. Some of these financial obligations date back more than two years. The unfortunate situation comes in the wake of Major Sletten Rederi AS declaring bankruptcy in October. 'Ingvild,' owned by Timberline II AS, has amassed a total claim amounting to $333,402.85. The vessel, which has been docked in Sauda since November 21, 2014, will remain in custody until the overdue fees owed to the Coastguard are resolved.
