On March 25, 2025, the cargo ship 'Medar' faced detention in Trabzon due to a series of ten critical deficiencies. Among these issues were failures related to the oil record book, which did not meet the required standards. Additionally, the structural integrity of the vessel was compromised, with corroded decks, cracks in the hull, and damaged beams, frames, and floors. Fire safety protocols were also inadequate, particularly concerning ventilation systems. Life-saving appliances aboard the 'Medar' were found lacking, as the lifeboats were reported inoperative, along with several other life-saving equipment deficiencies. The vessel did not comply with water and weather-tight standards, with issues related to ventilators, air pipes, casings, and freeboard markings also noted. Furthermore, there were shortcomings in the safety of navigation, specifically with the inoperative voyage or passage plan. Fortunately, after rectifying these issues, the 'Medar' was released from detention on March 27, 2025.

On February 5, 2014, a fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Amur 2537' while the ship was undergoing repairs at the Ship Repair Yard in Svetloye, Kaliningrad Region. The vessel had been in dock since January 16. Investigations suggest that the blaze was triggered by a short circuit in the electrical wiring, which ultimately ignited the insulation materials. Prompt action by eight fire teams helped to contain and extinguish the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, although assessments for damage are currently ongoing.

On December 31, 2013, the cargo ship Amur-2357, while navigating from Hovland to Antwerp, encountered severe winds in the Søra Sound, prompting an urgent need for refuge in Egersund. To ensure a safe entry, the lifeboat Peter Henry van Koss was dispatched to assist the vessel after it traversed from Tingelsædet to Viberodden. The freighter experienced significant steering difficulties following its passage past Skarvøy, with the lifeboat guiding it back on course. Despite initially drifting off course and struggling to align correctly, the Amur-2357 ultimately succeeded in docking safely in Egersund. This incident occurred during the ship’s journey from St. Petersburg to Antwerp, highlighting the unpredictable challenges posed by maritime weather conditions.
