Engine Trouble Strikes Hav Marlin in Brunsbüttel Canal Lock
On January 7, 2017, at 1 p.m., the cargo vessel 'Hav Marlin' encountered an unexpected engine failure as it approached the small lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel while traveling from Nordenham to Szczecin. Fortunately, the crew managed to halt the vessel in time, preventing a collision with the German tug 'Wolf' (IMO: 9036260), which was already docked in the lock to provide assistance to another ship, the 'Atlantic Mate'.
