Working Conditions Aboard the Menkar

On January 30, 2012, a crew member aboard the cargo vessel 'Menkar' experienced severe chest pain, prompting an urgent medical evacuation operation off the coast of Flushing, Netherlands. The quick-response lifeboat 'Uly' was dispatched to the scene, arriving approximately 20 minutes later. The afflicted crew member was found in a stable condition, seated in the wheelhouse, and his health improved significantly after receiving oxygen. Emergency personnel transferred him onto the 'Uly,' which promptly set sail for Westkapelle, where an ambulance awaited to provide further medical assistance. Once stabilized, the individual was transported to a hospital in Goes for additional treatment.
