On November 7, 2020, the cargo vessel 'Midas' demonstrated remarkable bravery while navigating from Riga to Fort Lauderdale, as it undertook a daring rescue operation in treacherous waters. The ship responded to a distress call after the catamaran 'Hallucine' capsized approximately 150 nautical miles off the coast of Portugal, tragically leading to the death of one sailor. The successful rescue was facilitated in partnership with specialized air support from Portugal's sea rescue services, which directed 'Midas' to alter its course towards the accident site, located four hours away. Due to the challenging weather conditions, the courageous crew aboard 'Midas' was unable to deploy a rescue boat.
