Midnight-Tide Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

An unfortunate incident unfolded on the evening of February 15, 2017, at the Charles A. Woodley pier in St. Eustatius when a truck was left severely damaged after a line from the vessel "Midnight Tide" snapped. The accident occurred around 8:30 p.m., with the good fortune that the truck driver escaped without severe injuries. The vehicle's cabin, however, was significantly impacted as the vessel began drifting away from the loading ramp where the truck was positioned to pick up a container. Prior to the incident, the ship's captain had expressed concerns regarding rough weather conditions and recommended securing the vessel with an additional line. Unfortunately, when the rope that held the ship to the pier came loose, it created a chain reaction that threatened to topple the truck into the water. Quick-thinking bystanders witnessed the truck's precarious situation and jumped in to assist. The driver managed to exit the truck just in time as it began to lean towards the water. Thanks to prompt reactions from nearby individuals and the use of a crane, the truck was safely hoisted back onto the pier. After the situation was secured, the "Midnight Tide" continued its operations, able to depart without further interruption.
