Lakeway Link is excited to announce the expansion of its service with the introduction of the 'Mistral', a sister vessel to the well-known 'Lakeway Express'. Scheduled to join the Lakeway Link fleet under a time charter agreement starting in November 2025, the 'Mistral' will significantly enhance the connection between Södertälje, Sweden, and Gdynia, Poland. This vessel boasts an identical design and cargo capacity to the 'Lakeway Express' and is registered in Mariehamn, owned by Godby Shipping from Åland. With the inclusion of the 'Mistral', daily sailings will be available from Monday to Friday in both directions, allowing Lakeway Link to cater to the growing customer demand for more frequent service.

On December 12, 2019, the ferry 'Mistral' found itself anchored in Dublin Bay near Dún Laoghaire after experiencing mechanical difficulties while traveling from Liverpool to Dublin. By December 15, the vessel remained at position 53° 18.96' N 006° 5.74' W. Unfortunately, the crew was unable to address the technical issues on board, which led to plans for a tow into the port. However, adverse weather conditions hindered this attempt. On board were five truck drivers accompanying a cargo of 80 trucks.
