On April 14, 2018, at 11:55 a.m. local time, the bulk carrier 'Aquasurfer' encountered a fuel oil filter issue while navigating through the Strait of Georgia, British Columbia, specifically at coordinates 49° 02' 06.8" N and 123° 17' 47.9" W. The vessel, under the guidance of a pilot, was temporarily disabled but managed to restart its engines shortly after. Following the restart, 'Aquasurfer' proceeded to anchorage at a slow speed, reaching Vancouver Anchorage by 10:20 p.m. The next day, on April 16, the ship was relocated to Vancouver Port for further assessments. After necessary repairs, 'Aquasurfer' resumed her journey on April 20, setting sail for Hadong.
