Vroon has made significant strides in renewable energy as its wind-turbine installation vessel, MPI Adventure, successfully installed the maiden SWT-4.0-130 offshore wind turbine at the Sandbank offshore wind farm. This groundbreaking event occurred on July 28, well ahead of the planned schedule. After fulfilling its contract for the commissioning of the offshore substation at the Sandbank site, MPI Adventure was promptly redeployed for turbine installation operations. The vessel boasts the impressive capability of installing six complete offshore wind turbines per cycle. In addition to installation, MPI has taken charge of the design, engineering, and manufacturing of the sea fastenings required for the transport and installation of all 72 turbines. On October 4, 2012, the MPI Adventure, renowned as the world's largest wind turbine installation vessel, will dock at the Port of Tyne.
