Polytra Facilitates Heavy Transformer Shipment from Belgium to Oman

Jan 07, 2018 13:08

In an impressive logistical operation, Polytra N.V., a prominent member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) representing Belgium, successfully executed the transport of two enormous transformers, each weighing 210 tonnes. The loading process took place in Mechelen, where the transformers were carefully placed onto a barge. From there, a direct transshipment occurred at the Port of Antwerp, where the cargo was transferred onto the ocean carrier 'Rickmers Singapore' using the vessel’s crane. Alongside the transformers, Polytra also managed the loading of 2000 freight tons of palletized oil drums, cases, and various accessory crates for the same undertaking. This substantial shipment journeyed to Oman, ultimately being discharged at the Port of Sohar in December 2017.

ZEABORN Group Expands Fleet with Acquisition of Five Heavy-Lift Vessels from Rickmers Holding

Aug 09, 2017 09:31

On July 31, 2017, ZEABORN Group finalized contracts to acquire five 30,000dwt Superflex Heavy Lift vessels, bolstering its maritime capabilities. These newly acquired ships—Rickmers SINGAPORE, Rickmers JAKARTA, Rickmers NEW ORLEANS, Rickmers SEOUL, and Rickmers DALIAN—are sister ships to the previously purchased Rickmers Hamburg and are set to operate within the Rickmers-Line liner service. Earlier in April 2017, ZEABORN had already taken ownership of Rickmers-Line, paving the way for this latest deal. While the exact financial details of the transaction remain confidential, the vessels feature impressive specifications: each has a deadweight tonnage (DWAT) of 30,000 mt, equipped with four cranes offering an aggregate lifting capacity of 640 tons, and fitted with intermediate decks to optimize loading efficiency. The transfer of ownership to ZEABORN is scheduled for the end of September, though the shipping company has already begun utilizing the vessels without restrictions.
