On July 6, 2012, a Croatian sailor mysteriously disappeared from the vessel 'Gallia' as it journeyed from Limassol to Trieste. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Rijeka alerted their Italian counterparts at 1:40 PM, prompting a comprehensive search operation. The Croatian Coast Guard's vessel 'Andrija Mohorovicic' joined forces with Italian ships and aircraft to comb through the waters. Key search efforts focused on an area southwest of Palagruza, where aerial searches were conducted twice during the afternoon. Despite extensive efforts, the search continued until the evening of July 7 without result. In the aftermath of the incident, 'Gallia' resumed its course to Trieste, reaching the port 21 hours later.
