On the morning of November 30, 2016, the cargo vessel 'Rio Cadiz' made a distress call to the Dutch Coast Guard following a medical emergency involving a crew member. At 08:30, the rescue station at Hoek van Holland received the alert. Just ten minutes later, the lifeboat 'Jeanine Parqui' was dispatched to the anchorage area 4 to assist. By 09:30, the lifeboat was alongside the vessel, where the patient was swiftly boarded and taken directly to the wheelhouse for immediate attention. The Coast Guard coordinated with an ambulance service, ensuring that a vehicle was ready at Berghaven to transport the patient to the hospital for further treatment.
