On March 11, 2025, at 12:30 PM UTC, the container ship MSC Berangere departed from the Port of Klaipeda with a visibly bent foremast. The damage is suspected to have occurred during an allision, potentially involving a gantry crane, which left noticeable scratch marks on the port side foreship. To stabilize the damaged mast, it was secured using steel cables. The MSC Berangere had made its arrival in Klaipeda the day prior, on March 10, after traveling from Hamburg, and was scheduled to continue its journey to Gdynia. The vessel is set to berth at the Baltic Container Terminal on March 13.
