On February 26, 2021, the container vessel 'GH Meltemi' (IMO: 9440306) experienced an allision with the 'MSC Carmen' while executing berthing maneuvers at the Ports & Cargo Handling Services Ltd. terminal in Tincan, Lagos. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries or environmental pollution. In response to the event, Portuguese authorities have initiated procedures to gather and analyze evidence pertaining to the allision. As of March 3, 2021, the 'GH Meltemi' remained docked at the Fivestar Tincan Island Container Terminal, alongside the stationary 'MSC Carmen'.

On January 22, 2019, the container ship MSC Carmen found itself trapped in ice while leaving the Port of Montreal, Quebec, around 2 p.m. The vessel was maneuvering at coordinates 45 57.949 N, 073 11.995 W when it became ensnared, drifting perilously close to a cluster of anchored vessels. Fortunately, the Canadian Coast Guard responded swiftly, dispatching the icebreaker Pierre Radisson along with two tugs to assist in the rescue efforts. After approximately five hours of intensive work, the MSC Carmen was finally freed. Thankfully, the incident resulted in no reported injuries, damage, or pollution. Following the ordeal, the ship resumed its voyage, setting sail again on January 26 at 4:45 p.m.
