MSC Clorinda Detained in Tianjin Over Serious Deficiencies
On April 10, 2026, the MSC Clorinda was detained in Tianjin after a comprehensive Port State Control inspection conducted by the Maritime authorities. The oversight was under the guidance of Mediterranean Shipping Co. SRL, the ISM company responsible for the vessel. Inspectors identified a total of eight deficiencies during the inspection, with two of these deemed critical enough to warrant the ship's detention. Following the resolution of these issues, the MSC Clorinda resumed its journey, departing from Tianjin on April 11, and arrived at its next destination, Dalian, on April 12.
MSC Clorinda Grounding Incident in Suez Canal
On January 4, 2016, at 6:20 AM, the cargo vessel 'MSC Clorinda' encountered a grounding incident while navigating the Suez Canal at kilometer marker 145, proceeding in a northerly direction. Fortunately, the ship was successfully refloated and continued its journey approximately four hours later. However, by 3:30 PM, the vessel was reported dead in the water, positioned near the canal's shore with three tugs assisting it as it awaited the passage of other ships in the northbound convoy. In the evening, the support vessel 'Mosaheb 2' (IMO: 9544906) remained alongside the 'MSC Clorinda.' According to information provided by GAC, the vessel had a draught of around 15 meters at the time of the incident. The 'MSC Clorinda' was traveling from Singapore to Izmit as part of the AE15 service.
