On January 11, 2020, the container ship MSC Eleni experienced a propulsion failure while navigating the Gulf of St. Lawrence, specifically 132 miles east-southeast of Gaspe, Quebec, at coordinates 48° 12' 05.8" N, 061° 14' 08.6" W.
