On March 29, 2018, at 7 a.m., the vessel Maersk Kiel encountered a technical issue while navigating south of Yalova. The ship, which had departed from Altinova on March 28 and was headed toward Constanta, saw its passage permission through the straits temporarily revoked by the local maritime authority until all necessary repairs were completed. Fortunately, the dedicated crew managed to carry out the necessary repairs, and by March 30, the Maersk Kiel was back in transit through the Sea of Marmara, with an estimated time of arrival in Constanta set for 11 p.m. on the same day.
