In a strategic move to enhance its shipping operations, APL, a subsidiary of Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines, has begun deploying larger vessels on the Far East-Mideast trade route. The APL-MOL West Asia Express (WAX/CMI) service, previously serviced by six vessels averaging 6,350 TEU each, will now feature 8,400-TEU ships, according to Alphaliner.
