Working Conditions Aboard the Msc-Mia

In a concerning incident on September 13, 2020, the container vessel 'MSC Mia' collided with a gantry crane while departing from the MSC container terminal in Valencia. The collision led to the crane's collapse, resulting in injuries to the crane operator who was subsequently rescued by the fire brigade and rushed to the hospital for treatment. Local emergency services were also summoned, with the SAR boat 'Salvamar Pollux' (MMSI: 224019770) from Salvamento Marítimo responding to the scene. Following the accident, 'MSC Mia' was anchored at Valencia's outer anchorage for a thorough investigation. The vessel is scheduled to continue its journey to Gioia Tauro, with an estimated arrival on September 15.
