On the evening of September 30, the engine room generator area of the 'Ea Ortolan Delta' experienced a fire while navigating off the coast of Mersin. Prompt response from fire extinguishing teams and Coast Guard vessels ensured that the blaze was quickly brought under control. Unfortunately, one crew member sustained burns to the face and arms during the incident and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. In response to the situation, Coast Guard teams cordoned off the area surrounding the ship. The 'Ea Ortolan Delta' had previously arrived at Mersin Anchorage on September 29 at 3:30 p.m., and on September 30, it repositioned to coordinates 36° 43' 05N, 34° 39' 10E. As of October 9, the vessel remained stationary, slated for Yalova with an expected time of arrival (ETA) on October 10.
