Cargo Ship 'Rachel Borchard' Aids 32 Distressed Migrants in Mediterranean Rescue
In a dramatic rescue operation, the cargo vessel 'Rachel Borchard' has successfully saved 32 migrants in distress from the unforgiving waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This diverse group comprises individuals from Belarus, as well as numerous others hailing from Kurdish and Turkish backgrounds. Among the rescued were eight unaccompanied minors, all of Kurdish and Turkish descent. The ship reached the Trapezium dock in Salerno on March 31, 2021, at approximately 10:30 PM. Following their arrival, the migrants underwent swab testing, with the results eagerly anticipated. Once results are received, the Salerno Civil Protection will facilitate their transfer to appropriate reception facilities.
