The Msc-Sasha: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

In a significant drug seizure, federal police in Antwerp, in collaboration with customs officials in Rotterdam, uncovered 1,200 kg of cocaine concealed within a container that had journeyed from Panama. The discovery occurred after the container had been diverted to a facility in Wilrijk, leading to the apprehension of five suspects. The infamous container arrived in Rotterdam aboard the merchant vessel 'MSC Sasha' on September 21, 2022. Authorities had received intel about the shipment and were prepared to act. Rotterdam customs officials conducted a thorough inspection, unveiling the drugs and replacing the cocaine with faux blocks in black sports bags before returning the container to the 'MSC Sasha' for its scheduled arrival in Antwerp on September 26. Upon reaching quay 1742, the bags were seamlessly transferred to another container, which was later collected by an individual linked to the criminal organization. The truck subsequently transported the goods to a site on the Oudebaan in Wilrijk, intended for further distribution. That’s when federal police launched an operation at the warehouse and took into custody individuals, including an Albanian man and a Dutch private investigator. The Antwerp public prosecutor has since confirmed the arrest of five suspects aged 28, 29, 40, 45, and 54. This week, at least four of the detainees were presented before the council chamber, where their arrests were upheld.
