MSC Vigo Battles North Sea Storm Before Resuming Voyage
On the night of January 1, 2019, the MSC Vigo encountered a challenging situation while navigating the North Sea. After departing from Bremerhaven at 7:45 a.m. on December 31, the vessel began to drift southward after losing an anchor at the New Weser-North Anchorage on January 2. The German Central Command for Maritime Emergencies promptly took action to address the distress. Thanks to their efforts, the situation was stabilized, allowing the MSC Vigo to continue on its journey toward Felixstowe. Initially expected to arrive on the morning of January 2, the vessel eventually docked at Trinity Terminal in the port of Felixstowe at 3:55 a.m. on January 3.
