Diana Containerships Inc. Extends TC Agreements for Two Panamax Vessels

Nov 29, 2014 10:08

Diana Containerships Inc., a leading player in the global shipping industry known for its specialization in the ownership of containerships, has announced significant developments concerning its fleet. Through two entirely owned subsidiaries, the company has successfully negotiated extensions for the time charter contracts associated with two of its Panamax container vessels: the m/v Cap Domingo and the m/v Cap Doukato. The charter agreements have seen the current contracts novated to the reputable Reederei Santa Containerschiffe GmbH & Co. KG, transitioning to Rudolf A. Oetker KG. This deal entails a gross charter rate of $9,900 per day, subject to a 3.75% commission fee payable to third-party intermediaries. Specifically, the m/v Cap Domingo is set for a charter term of 13 months—subject to 30 plus 45 days—while the m/v Cap Doukato will see a charter commitment ranging from a minimum of 13 months to a maximum of 16 months. Both charter agreements are scheduled to commence on December 23, 2014. The anticipated employment of these vessels is projected to yield approximately $7.43 million in gross revenue for the minimum duration outlined in the contracts. This strategic extension highlights Diana Containerships' commitment to maintaining a robust operational framework and ensuring long-term partnerships in the maritime sector.
