Investigation of M. Star Incident Reveals No Explosives Found
In a recent development regarding the damaged tanker 'M. Star' (IMO: 9515436), the National Police Agency has confirmed the absence of explosives in the materials collected during their investigation following a suspected attack in the Strait of Hormuz in late July. This finding suggests that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism may conclude there was no explosive device involved when it publishes a detailed report on the incident as early as November. The ministry is currently focused on a significant inward dent observed on the starboard side of the 'M. Star', a damage that spans from just above the waterline to a depth well below it. Experts are inclined to believe that this damage may have resulted from an explosion occurring externally beneath the waterline. Additionally, radar data retrieved from the tanker indicates two small unidentified vessels that were exhibiting suspicious movements in proximity to 'M. Star' during the incident.
