In a significant move, Waruna Group, an Indonesian shipping company, has been identified as the purchaser of the CSK Valiant aframax tanker, previously owned by Hong Kong's Tai Chong Cheang (TCC). The acquisition was first disclosed by Splash, revealing that Waruna secured the 107,000 dwt vessel for $17.9 million. This price tag is approximately $2.4 million over the valuation provided by the online shipping platform, VesselsValue.com, which has the 13-year-old tanker listed at a lower figure. Waruna Group boasts an impressive fleet of 33 vessels, 28 of which are tankers, underscoring their strong presence in the maritime industry. Kenneth Koo, chairman of TCC, mentioned that the company is currently oriented towards fleet renewal, making this sale a strategic part of their future plans.
