The Multratug-18: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On July 9, 2013, the tugboat "Multratug 18" successfully towed the "Smitbarge 7" containing the wreck of the fishing vessel "Jan Breydel" (IMO: 7910808) to Rotterdam as part of a larger initiative by Dutch authorities to remove various hazardous wrecks from navigation routes. The "Jan Breydel" met its unfortunate fate in 1985 after colliding with the Philippine-flagged vessel "Arabian Express" at coordinates 51°53'N and 02°35'E. Fortunately, the crew was able to escape into a liferaft and were later rescued by the Norwegian oil tanker "Salstraum."
