Bulk Carrier Gladiatorship Aground Near Nacala Port, Refloated by Kotug

Sep 09, 2016 09:05

On September 4, 2016, the bulk carrier "Gladiatorship" encountered a predicament when it ran aground near Nacala while departing for Richards Bay, South Africa. Due to the vessel's inability to refloat on its own power and the risk of damage caused by shifting tides, the salvage company Kotug was called to action. Utilizing two rotortugs, Kotug efficiently maneuvered the ship back into safe waters within two hours of the grounding incident. Following a thorough survey, the Gladiatorship continued its journey, successfully anchoring at Richards Bay Anchorage on September 8.
