On June 29, 2010, at 4:20 a.m., a maritime incident occurred in the Karmsound, located south of Bukkøy, when the Danish cargo vessel m/v 'Livarden' collided with the Norwegian vessel 'Anette'. The 'Livarden', which bore the IMO number 7816135, was permitted to continue to Skagen later that evening at 7:30 p.m. to undergo repairs at a local Danish shipyard after managing to get to Husøy despite suffering a crushed bow from the collision. Meanwhile, the 'Anette' suffered damages to its starboard side and docked safely at Kopervik. In the wake of this incident, the Norwegian directorate conducted a port state control inspection on the 'Livarden' and a casualty survey on the 'Anette', which had a pilot on board at the time of the crash. Both captains were subjected to drug testing, yielding negative results.
