Navigator-Jorf Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

On September 22, 2025, the oil tanker 'Navigator Jorf' took up its position in the Gulf of Mexico, approximately 25 nautical miles north of the coastline of Houston at coordinates 25° 14' N 087° 55' W. The vessel, which was last reported to be 'Not under command', had embarked on its journey from Jorf Lasfar and was en route to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. As of September 25, the tanker has remained stationary, raising questions about its current operational status.

On June 28, 2021, the dedicated crew of the "Navigator Jorf" successfully carried out a rescue mission, aiding two young Moroccan migrants who were stranded in a small boat northeast of Ceuta. The migrants were attempting to reach the southern coast of Spain when they signaled for assistance. The Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Tarifa, Cádiz, promptly instructed the vessel to stay on site while they dispatched the advanced search and rescue boat 'Salvamar Atria' from Ceuta. Upon reaching safety, the two individuals were transported back to the Spanish port in Ceuta, showing an overall good state of health after their harrowing experience at sea.

In an impressive showcase of maritime engineering, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) of South Korea has successfully delivered the ABS-classed LPG carrier, Navigator Jorf, to Navigator Gas. This state-of-the-art vessel boasts a capacity of 38,000 cubic meters and is fully refrigerated, marking a significant enhancement to the Navigator Gas fleet. Designed to transport ammonia, the Navigator Jorf is set to operate in key trade routes within North West Europe and the Mediterranean, particularly between Morocco and other destinations. Throughout the vessel's development, ABS collaborated closely with all stakeholders involved, including the shipyard, ship owner, design teams, and regulatory bodies, ensuring the delivery of a top-tier marine asset. This milestone not only reflects HMD's commitment to excellence but also reinforces its reputation in the global maritime industry.
