On July 15, 2011, at 0510 LT, the general cargo vessel m/v Navin Kestrel encountered difficulties as it ran aground on the northern border of the entrance channel to Kaliningrad port. Fortunately, by 0712 LT, the vessel was successfully refloated with the aid of the tugboat 'Pioner' and subsequently towed to anchorage for safety.
