The 'Nazmehr', a vessel that encountered grounding issues at coordinates 44 58 31 N, 047 47 42 E, near kilometer mark 170 of the Volga-Caspian Sea Ship Canal on February 25, has been successfully refloated. After undergoing a lightering operation with the assistance of a floating crane and other support vessels, the ship was freed from its stuck position on the evening of May 9. Following this operation, the Nazmehr is now en route to its intended destination port in Iran, marking a successful resolution to the grounding situation.

On the evening of February 25, 2023, the 'Nazmehr,' carrying a crew of 12, ran aground in the Volga-Caspian Sea Canal, approximately 170 kilometers from the designated buoys NN 17 and 15. The incident occurred near coordinates 44°58'31" N, 047°47'42" E while the vessel was making its way to Astrakhan with a load of 1,500 tons of salt and six trucks. Despite sustaining a hull breach, the ship remained aground as of February 26, with no injuries reported among the crew and no immediate risk of flooding. Fortunately, navigation along the canal continues unaffected.

On October 18, 2018, an alarming incident unfolded aboard the cargo vessel 'Nazmehr', prompting a swift response from emergency services. The vessel, located approximately 21 miles offshore from Pirallahi Island and making its journey from Aktau to Baku, reported a critical situation involving mass poisoning among the crew members. In the face of challenging weather conditions, a Border Service guard ship was deployed to the scene, managing to reach the 'Nazmehr' at around 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, seven crew members were discovered in dire health. First aid was quickly administered, and the vessel was redirected towards Absheron port where medical teams awaited. Sadly, while the injured sailors were hospitalized, three of the Iranian crew did not survive, leaving four others still in medical care under the watch of health professionals.
