In an elegant ceremony held in Mozambique, the First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs. Maria Da Luz Dai Guebuza, officially named the latest addition to the Höegh Autoliners fleet, the Höegh Maputo. This significant event, which took place with the esteemed presence of her husband, His Excellency Armando Emilio Guebuza, the President of Mozambique, showcased the importance of maritime advancements in the region. Hosted by Höegh Autoliners' chairman, Leif O. Høegh, the naming ceremony celebrated the launch of this impressive vessel. The Höegh Maputo, a pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), boasts a length of 182.8 meters and a remarkable carrying capacity of 4,900 car equivalent units. This state-of-the-art ship was delivered in July 2011 from Xiamen Shipbuilding Industries in China and represents the third of four vessels constructed specifically for Höegh Autoliners. The unveiling of the Höegh Maputo marks a significant milestone in enhancing maritime logistics and transportation capabilities for the region.
