Nevsky Shipyard Commences Sea Trials for M/V Neva-Leader 3 Dry Bulk Carrier
On April 30, 2013, the Nevsky Shipyard launched M/V Neva-Leader 3 (IMO: Hull No 403) into the sea for its initial trials, as reported in an official press release from the shipyard. This self-propelled dry bulk carrier, part of the Project RSD49, is being built for the North Western Shipping Company. The design for the project was created by the Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-St.Pb. This particular ship is part of a substantial order from North Western Shipping Company, which encompasses a total of ten self-propelled dry cargo vessels of 7150DWT under Project RSD49; additionally, the company has ordered 12 vessels in total. While the Nevsky Shipyard is tasked with building the majority, two of these ships are slated for construction at the Lotus Shipyard in Astrakhan. Notably, the M/V Neva-Leader-1, another vessel from this series, was successfully outfitted at the Onega docks in Petrozavodsk and was launched in May 2012.
