Nevskiy 31 Grounding Incident in Gulf of Finland

On October 17, 2018, at 7 p.m., the cargo vessel 'Nevskiy 31', with a deadweight tonnage of 2,781, found itself stranded near the southern edge of Seskar Island in the eastern Gulf of Finland. At the time of the incident, the vessel was transporting a load of sand sourced from the dredging vessel 'Leningradskaya 1', destined for St. Petersburg. The following day, on October 19, the support hopper 'Nevskiy 35' approached the site of the grounding to assist, positioned at coordinates 59° 59.31' N and 028° 23.03' E.
